#ZacchiosTop15 of 2016

Last year, I decided to compile a list of my 15 favorite stories written during the year, rank them, and then tweet them out in ascending order. Included in the tweets was a description of why the piece was one of my favorites, along with the hashtag #ZacchiosTop15. Like any sports fan, I’ve always loved … Continue reading #ZacchiosTop15 of 2016

“You Make Me Look Forward Towards The Future”

It’s been a while since someone inspired me to write something about them. Personally, I think that the best writing comes from the heart because it is raw and authentic. It doesn’t come off as fluff created just to make the reader feel better. In any case, my latest for Thought Catalog went up this … Continue reading “You Make Me Look Forward Towards The Future”

“I See Pretty Girls Everywhere I Go And I Can’t Help It”

It’s practically impossible for me to go somewhere and not see a pretty girl. She could be cute, pretty, gorgeous, or stunning, but the chances are high that there will be someone in the room who will fit that billing to me. I don’t see it as a bad thing. If anything, I think it’s … Continue reading “I See Pretty Girls Everywhere I Go And I Can’t Help It”

New Thought Catalog Work (Finally)!

I’m not really sure where the time went, but it had been more than five months since my last Thought Catalog article before filing a piece yesterday morning. A lot of it had to do with my actual work schedule, but I definitely plan on contributing again on a somewhat regular basis. I’ve got two … Continue reading New Thought Catalog Work (Finally)!

#10yearchallenge: Got to see my old college bowling teammate for the first time in a decade the other night. (Swipe ⬅️ if you want to see what I looked like in college.)
On to the next chapter. Thanks for being part of the journey. -30-
And now for some personal news: This is my last week with @lohudsports. I've spent the past eight-plus years covering high school sports (and more) with The Journal News/lohud, but my run here has come to an end and life has rolled me into a new lane. My farewell column is linked in my bio and is in today's print edition of The Journal News. For those interested in my next move, I will be joining the management staff at @LuckyStrikeWN starting on Monday. My social media profiles and handles will change, but I'll still be running the accounts. I'm going to host a Facebook Live AMA next week so you can literally ask me anything that is on your mind that I might not have been able to answer before. (Photo credit: @JMeorePhoto)
Hen Hud freshman Alex Figueroa, 15, was diagnosed with metastatic Ewing’s sarcoma last week. The community has since raised over $78,000 in support of her. 🙏🏻⚓️ Read more at the link in my bio. #AlexsArmy #beatcancer #ewingssarcoma #cancerfight #hendrickhudson #henhud #anchordown #gofundme #gofundmecampaign #westchester
And just like that, a new generation of Irvington girls basketball players was born...
