One of my favorite writers, Jeff Pearlman, has starting doing these short podcasts through the Bumpers phone application and I loved them so much that I’ve decided to give it a shot.
I’ve always wanted to start a podcast of some kind, but I was never sure how to really go about it. This seems like a great, effective way to get it off the ground. I don’t have any set schedule yet, but I’d love to do a full-length weekly episode (15-30 minutes?) with some quick-hit random thoughts throughout the week.
I’ve been putting together plans to launch a weekly YouTube series in January, but I think a podcast will be significantly more efficient way to promote content. (I figure people would rather listen to a podcast on a work commute or workout than sit and watch a 5-10 minute video; plus, the time it would take to record and edit YouTube videos every week would be exhausting.)
Ideally, the official launch would be on Monday, Dec. 5, with this first recording and next week’s being sort of a beta test. In the meantime, I’d love to hear your suggestions for a name of the podcast (all recordings will be based around love, dating, relationships, and sex, if it helps).
My pilot recording went up last night, and it discusses a recent blog post of mine, “Are You Going To Write About This?” and provides added perspective into the topic and the piece itself.
